A report on the Chatham Islands economy
Chatham Islands Council gives notice that, in accordance with s55(2) of the Resource Management Act 1991, the Resource Management Document has been amended to incorporate the National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management 2020 (NPS-FM 2020).
On 8 December 2022, changes to the NPS-FM 2020(external link) were gazetted and came into force on 5 January 2023. They concern NPS-FM 2020 Policies 3.22 and 3.24 which relate to natural inland wetlands and riverbeds.
The changes must be incorporated into relevant plans, without using the process set out in Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act (1991). Accordingly, Chatham Islands Council has amended its Resource Management Document.
This notice was first published on 24 July 2023 on the Council’s website and in the Chatham Community Focus Trust newsletter. If you have any questions, please contact us on 03 305 0033 or email secretary@cic.govt.nz.
