Thanks to those who attended the Essential Freshwater Package Q&A session on 1 August 2022.
We are now waiting for the Government to decide on what the Islands will need to comply with. Council has made a number of submissions on proposed regulations and we are awaiting the outcome of that process.
Once we know how stock exclusion, wetland protection, freshwater farm plans, RMA reform etc will apply to the Islands, we will host a face-to-face hui with you.
But in the meantime, we encourage you to submit on any new consultation the Government holds on this topic. We will include information about these opportunities in future council newsletters so you can get involved.
There will also be opportunities to take part in the select committee processes for RMA replacement legislation.
