The Environment Canterbury biosecurity team have been announced as a finalist in the New Zealand Annual Biosecurity Awards 2019 for their work on the Chatham Islands Biosecurity Project.
Kerri Moir and Robin Seymour are the Chatham Islands resident biosecurity team. They work closely with Steven Palmer to manage and implement biosecurity measures.
Over the years the committed team have blocked some nasty pests from entering and establishing on the Islands, including hibernating German Wasp queens, Plague Skinks, and a barge carrying marine pests Undaria, Styela, and Sabella.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held in Auckland 4th November.
