Alcohol in Public Places Bylaw 2018 – consultation now closed

Submissions on the Bylaw closed at 5pm on Friday 21 September 2018.

Alcohol in Public Places Bylaw 2018

The Control of Alcohol in Public Places Bylaw 2018 is a review of the Liquor Ban Bylaw 2012.

The proposed Bylaw prohibits:

  • The consumption of alcohol in a public place
  • The possession of alcohol in a public place
  • The bringing of alcohol into a public place
  • Consumption of alcohol in a vehicle in a public place

A public place is defined as the public areas within the township of Waitangi including roads and streets as displayed in Schedule A attached to the proposed Bylaw.
