A report on the Chatham Islands economy
The Chatham Islands Council has adopted their Rates Remission Policy on Maori & Moriori Freehold Land.
The objective of this policy is to remove or reduce any financial burden on Māori and Moriori owned lands that have no occupier, economic or financial benefit derived from the land and there is no practical means of enforcing the rates assessed by granting a remission for the portion of land unoccupied and unproductive.
Download a copy of the Chatham Islands Council Rates Remission Policy on Māori & Moriori Freehold Land below, or if you would like a physical copy, these are available at the offices of the Chatham Islands Council at 13 Tuku Road.
